Meet our Staff Team

Annabel Nicol
Operations Manager

Annabel is the Operations Manager at Reading Almshouse Charity, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and managing the charity’s administration. She works closely with the trustees to ensure the organisation meets its objectives and that we are a friendly face for our residents.

Her career in housing began by chance when she took a role at one of the UK’s largest housing associations. She quickly discovered a passion for the sector, driven by a belief that everyone deserves a home and that her work truly makes a difference.

Outside of work, Annabel enjoys attending music festivals, staying active, and long walks with her dog.

Keith Stoneman
Housing Manager

Keith is one of our two housing managers and predominantly works from Liberty House.  Keith has a background in public services, with 30 years police service, and 7 years working for local authority before joining us at the Almshouses. His day-to-day work is engaging with residents over any repairs or other issues around any of our sites, and generally managing the property and contractors to ensure we are not only compliant with legislation around safety but that in practice Liberty House is a safe, enjoyable place to live.

During his time off Keith enjoys photography, progressive rock music, and can generally be found at a random parkrun somewhere in the world on any given Saturday morning.

Diane Owens
Housing Manager

Diane is the Housing Manger for Penton House and Castle Street sites belonging to the Reading Almshouses Charity.

Her duties are to provide support and advice to residents, organise minor repairs and maintenance, ensure health & safety regulations are adhered to and generally oversee the running of the building.

Prior to working for the charity, she worked in residential care for the elderly, older people’s mental health for the NHS and social prescribing for Age UK and the NHS.

These roles all highlighted how a good place to live is a basic requirement for a person’s wellbeing.

In her personal life, Diane enjoys gardening, the theatre, spending time with family and grandchildren, and walking in the countryside.

Fiona Craig
Charity Accountant

Our Accountant, Fiona is responsible for our financial management, compliance, and accounting. She works closely with colleagues and Trustees to ensure the organisation meets its financial and legal objectives.

Fiona has a background in working in both commercial and not for profit sectors and is committed to our key value of providing housing with heart.
